Health Matters Supporting Workplaces

Health Matters Supporting Workplaces

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) signed up to our Health Matters at Work initiative which has enabled us to provide support, training, tools and guidance in developing and implementing their health and wellbeing initiative. The overall aim of the initiative is to support workplaces in promoting positive physical and mental health and wellbeing within the workplace.

Chief Human Resources Officer Paul Smyth said “We fully recognise that providing support and assistance to our employees to look after their health and well-being is crucial if SERC is to continue to provide a high standard of education. Implementing this initiative will be one of the most important elements to ensuring that staff continue to flourish and will offer great opportunities to get active, build resilience, chill out and meet new friends.

We have trained Mental Health First Aiders and with Health Matters’ support we have developed the Mind Yourself initiative and have numerous activities planned to engage staff and get people thinking and talking about their health and wellbeing.”

Health Matters can support workplaces through both our Health Matters at Work initiative (available to business in NI only) or through a range of other workplace health and wellbeing programmes.
