In today’s fast-paced world, families often face a myriad of challenges ranging from physical and mental health issues to financial struggles and social isolation. At Health Matters we recognise the importance of supporting our community, which is why we’re proud to announce our partnership with a remarkable charity, Bolster who provide practical and therapeutic support for individuals and families.
This incredible organisation offers a range of services aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of families, including practical and therapeutic support, as well as various training programs for parents and children. From tackling mental health problems to navigating family breakdowns and parenting difficulties, this charity is dedicated to finding solutions and empowering families to thrive.
One of the programs we’ve had the privilege to fund is called “Fun Friends” for 4–7-year-olds. This program is a cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) based initiative endorsed by the World Health Organization as best practice for preventing and treating anxiety and depression in young children. By promoting resilience in families and communities, Fun Friends aims to equip children with essential skills to navigate life’s challenges confidently.
The outcomes of the Fun Friends program are nothing short of remarkable. Participants experience improved confidence, increased ability to cope with stress and fear, enhanced social skills, and improved communication with adults. Additionally, the program boosts self-esteem, happiness, and enthusiasm, setting children on a path towards a brighter and more resilient future.
By supporting initiatives like Fun Friends, we are not only investing in the well-being of individual families but also in the strength and resilience of our communities. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and through our partnership with Bolster, we’re working towards making that vision a reality.
