IOSH Leading Safely

This 1 day IOSH approved course aims to ensure that Health and Safety is appreciated by people at the most senior executive levels. The course should enable executives to review policy and strategies, and, where necessary, introduce changes to make their organisation operate more safely.

 

The purpose of this programme is to ensure that senior management and decision makers form an appreciation of the moral, financial and legal issues relating to workplace health and safety.

IOSH Managing Safely

This 3-day IOSH approved Managing Safely course is for those required to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both their organisation’s policy and best practice in Health and Safety.

 

This training ensures that safety requirements are appreciated by people employed as line managers, supervisors or heads of department and to enable them to complete risk assessments in their own departmental systems for safety. They will gain confidence to introduce new controls or implement changes as appropriate to ensure safety of their staff in the workplace.

 

An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is awarded to all who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.

IOSH Managing Safely Refresher

This 1 day IOSH training course is aimed at managers and supervisors with health and safety responsibilities, but is equally valid for directors, senior officers and health and safety officers in low risk organisations. Past delegates have come from virtually every industry and internationally.
Delegates must have passed the full IOSH Managing Safely course within the last 3 years to be eligible to attend this course.

 

An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is awarded to all who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.

IOSH Training for Trainers Client Patient Handling

This 5 day IOSH approved ‘Client Handling Training for Trainers’ course is intended for Healthcare Staff who wish to hold an accredited course and to have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their own ‘in – house’ client handling training.

 

Our training is relevant for experienced healthcare professionals such as Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and also suitably qualified and experienced Senior Care Staff working in various Healthcare settings including Nursing Homes, Residential Care and Housing Associations.

 

The course aims to train experienced and appropriately qualified Healthcare Staff in instructional skills and the theoretical and practical aspects of manual handling of loads and clients to the standard required by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) and the Safety Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005 (ROI) to enable them to carry out in-house training within their respective organisations.

 

Assessment will be carried out by Health Matters (Health & Safety) Ltd and moderated by IOSH. Achievement of the objectives of the course will be assessed by;

  1. A written paper in the form of an objective multi choice test/short answers (30 in total). The duration of the test will be 45 minutes (Pass Rate is 55%).
  2. A practical assessment involving a candidate’s ability to deliver a training session to their peers within the group (min 10 minute / max 15 minutes duration).

 

An IOSH Client Handling – Training the Trainer New Key Worker certificate is awarded to all who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.

 

To ensure that guidance from the Royal College of Nursing, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Nation Back Exchange Standards in Manual Handling, Third Edition, 2010 are adhered to, we will require all trainers to attend for 1 day update training on an annual basis with Health Matters plus reassessment by IOSH every third year, or we will be unable to reissue to them a certificate.

 

All employers are to ensure each delegate has access to the Guide to the Handling of People 6th Edition as a training aid for continuous reference throughout their period as a trainer. We can arrange to have this publication available to trainees at an additional cost.

IOSH Training for Trainers Client Patient Handling Refresher

This 1 day training programme is a mandatory refresher / update course for the full IOSH ‘Training for Trainers’ Client Handling course and must be completed within 3 years.

 

The course aims to update and further develop participants’ knowledge and practical skills in relation to teaching and instructing others in the safe moving and handling of clients/residents and inanimate loads within the care sector.

IOSH Training for Trainers Load Handling

This 3 day training programme is appropriate for staff working within a diverse range of working sectors which include Construction, Manufacturing, Engineering, Healthcare sector (where no client handling is required) Offices, Retail and all Public Sectors.

 

The course aims to train staff in instructional skills and the theoretical and practical aspects of manual handling of loads to the standard required by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) and the Safety, Health & Welfare Act 2005 (ROI). This training in turn will equip suitably experienced and skilled individuals to have the knowledge and training techniques required to carry out in-house training within their respective organisations.

 

An IOSH approved Load Handling – Training the Trainer certificate is awarded to all who attend the course, successfully complete and meet the required marks in both the written and practical assessments.

The aim is to update and further develop participants’ knowledge and practical skills in relation to teaching and instructing others in the safe manual handling of inanimate loads within any work sector.

 

IOSH Training for Trainers’ Load Handling Refresher can be delivered from our Newry, Belfast or Dublin training centres. Alternatively, we can deliver in your workplace or any suitable venue in Northern Ireland (NI), Republic of Ireland or Great Britain.
