Health Matters Teams Step Up for the Southern Area Hospice

May Challenge: Training vs Occupational Health
This May, our teams at Health Matters Training and Health Matters Occupational Health are going head-to-head in a friendly step challenge – all in support of the Southern Area Hospice.

Each participant is aiming to walk 10,000 steps a day throughout the month. While the goal is simple, the reason behind it is deeply meaningful. Every step taken helps raise much-needed funds for the Southern Area Hospice, an organisation that provides vital care and support to people and families across the region.

A Shared Mission with a Competitive Edge
The step challenge has sparked a wave of enthusiasm across both teams. Whether it’s walking meetings, lunchtime strolls, or evening hikes, team members are finding creative ways to reach their target.

How You Can Help
We welcome and encourage donations to support our challenge and, more importantly, the hospice’s ongoing work. Contributions can be made through our JustGiving page, where every donation – big or small – will go directly towards helping those in need.

By donating, you’re not just supporting our teams – you’re supporting real people in our community facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

Follow the Challenge: Who Will Be Our Winning Team?
Throughout May, we’ll be sharing updates, team stories, and milestones as the challenge progresses. Keep an eye on our website and social media for photos, step counts, and highlights from both teams. Let the step-counting begin!

We also hope this challenge inspires others to move more, connect with colleagues, and support causes that matter.

A Step in the Right Direction
At Health Matters, we believe in leading by example. This challenge is a reflection of our commitment to both staff wellbeing and community impact.

It’s not just a walk in the park – it’s a month-long effort to move with purpose. Whether it’s rain or shine, tired feet or sore legs, every step brings us closer to supporting a cause that truly matters.

Let’s keep moving – for health, for community, and for the Southern Area Hospice.
