This course is appropriate for anyone who is required to undertake basic manual handling activities as part of their job role. The course will provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to help safeguard them from the associated risks.
This course aims to provide learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to safeguard themselves from the risks of associated with basic manual handling operations in the workplace.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Define Manual Handling
- Identify Manual Handling Legislation
- Identify Employer & Employee duties
- List components of the musculoskeletal system
- Identify how these components can be injured as a result of manual handling operations
- Identify the characteristics of neutral and positive posture
- List backpain risk factors and prevention measures

The learner’s ability to meet the learning outcomes is assessed via both a multi-choice and a practical assessment exercise.
Upon successfully completing this course, delegates are given a certificate that is valid for three years.
