This course is aimed at health care workers who may encounter service users presenting challenging behaviours. The course aims to help ensure they are prepared for and deal with such situations in an appropriate manner.
The course explores the causes of challenging or aggressive behaviour within the care sector and aim to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to manage such situations in an appropriate manner.
On completion of this training, you should be able to:
- Understand the factors which may increase the potential for aggressive or challenging behaviour.
- Identify appropriate interventions in the management of such behaviour.
- Understand the importance of communication skills in de-escalating potentially aggressive events.
- Understand the importance of adherence to record keeping, work policy and procedures.
