This course is designed for staff that will be carrying out DSE risk assessments within their workplace. It is also beneficial for remote workers who are required to carry out self-assessments.
This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to carry out basic DSE risk assessments.
On successful completion of this qualification, learners will:
- Understand the meaning of DSE
- Understand the relevant DSE Legislation
- Be able to identify the employers, employees and assessors’ duties concerning DSE
- Be able to identify the health effects of improper DSE use
- Be able to identify the effects of poor posture and how to correct it
- Be able to identify common DSE and workstation hazards
- Understand the meaning of ergonomics
- Understand how to correctly adjust / adapt a workstation in a way that protects the health and safety of the user
- Understand how to carry out a basic DSE assessment as per the Regulations
The course is structured into 5-elements.
- Element 1: Introduction to DSE
- Element 2: Adverse Health Effects
- Element 3: DSE and Workstation Hazards
- Element 4: DSE and Workstation Design
- Element 5: DSE Risk Assessment in Practice
At the end of the course, Learners will take a multi-choice assessment to verify the knowledge and skills that they have gained through this course.
The exam consists of 18-questions.
You must achieve the following minimum pass marks:
- 14 out of 18
Upon successfully completing this course, delegates will be provided with a certificate that is valid for three years.
