FAQs about NEBOSH Working with Wellbeing
What is the NEBOSH Working with Wellbeing?
The NEBOSH Working with Wellbeing is a highly recognised award level qualification. NEBOSH has developed it to help equip individuals with a level of workplace health and wellbeing expertise. The skills gained aid those trained to influence employee wellbeing positively.
This introductory level qualification covers the concept of bringing about positive workplace wellbeing change. Learners can bring about this change in any workplace in any sector. The content is structured into the three elements listed below.
Foundations of wellbeing: This element explores the concept of wellbeing and why it matters.
The branches of wellbeing: This element covers the benefits of wellbeing practice within the workplace. Focus is placed on how organisations can use an intervention plan to improve individual and organisational wellbeing.
Interventions in the workplace: This section focuses on how organisations can use an intervention plan. Such plans can contain a mixture of both primary and specialist health and wellbeing interventions. Importance is placed on how these interventions should address the factors which affect health and wellbeing. Not factors that are perceived to influence it by HR or other management-level functions.
The course introduces the NEBOSH wellbeing tree, which considers six critical areas of wellbeing. These facets are Nutrition, Exercise, Mindfulness, Interaction, Kindness, and Learning. If a plan is based around these six areas, it is believed to address the aspects that matter.

How is it assessed?
The Working with Wellbeing NEBOSH qualification is assessed via a single practical assessment. This assessment comprises two parts that collectively take approximately 1 hour to complete. The first part requires the delegate to reflect on their organisation's strengths and weaknesses using the NEBOSH wellbeing tree. The second part requires the learner to develop an intervention plan to address the areas of weakness. Delegates must justify each choice, detailing how they could evaluate the effectiveness of each intervention. This assessment is intended to measure delegates' ability to demonstrate that they understand what they have been taught. It is also used to ascertain that the employee can apply the learning in a workplace environment.
