This IOSH approved ‘Moving and Handling of People – Train the Trainer’ course is intended for healthcare staff who wish to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their own ‘in – house’ moving and handling of people training.
The course is appropriate for experienced healthcare professionals such as Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and suitably qualified and experienced Senior Care Staff working in varying Healthcare settings
Assessment will be carried out by Health Matters (Health & Safety) Ltd and moderated by IOSH. Achievement of the objectives of the course will be assessed by;
All employers are to ensure each delegate has access to the Guide to the Handling of People 6th Edition as a training aid for continuous reference throughout their period as a trainer. We can arrange to have this publication available to trainees at an additional cost.
We recommend all participants who complete this course also attend and successfully complete a one day re-certification course every 3 years to enable continuation of certificate.
This 1 day training programme is intended for those who wish to update their ‘Moving and Handling of People – Train the Trainer’ certification and to maintain the skills and knowledge to carry out their own in-house moving and handling of people training.
The course is appropriate for those who currently hold an IOSH approved ‘Moving and Handling of People – Train the Trainer’ or IOSH approved ‘Patient Handling – Training for Trainers’ certification that is coming close to its expiry date.
This IOSH approved ‘Manual Handling – Train the Trainer’ course is intended for individuals who wish to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their own ‘in – house’ manual handling (inanimate load) training.
This 3 day training programme is appropriate for staff working within a diverse range of working sectors which include Construction, Manufacturing, Engineering, Healthcare sector (where no client handling is required) Offices, Retail and all Public Sectors.
The course aims to train staff in instructional skills and the theoretical and practical aspects of manual handling of loads to the standard required by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) and the Safety, Health & Welfare Act 2005 (ROI). This training in turn will equip suitably experienced and skilled individuals to have the knowledge and training techniques required to carry out in-house training within their respective organisations.
An IOSH Manual Handling – Train the Trainer certificate is awarded to all who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.
To ensure that guidance from the Royal College of Nursing, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Safety Commission are adhered to, we will require all trainers to attend for 1 day update training on an annual basis with Health Matters plus reassessment by IOSH every third year, or we will be unable to reissue to them a certificate
This training programme is a mandatory refresher / update course for the full IOSH ‘Training for Trainers’ Manual Handling course and must be completed within 3 years.
